Board accepts 2023 audit; auditor issues clean opinion while flagging internal-control weaknesses

The Green Mountain Falls Board of Trustees voted to accept the town's 2023 audited financial statements after an overview from Kyle Logan of Logan & Associates. Logan told trustees that "for the year ended December 31st, 2023, the town received an unmodified opinion," a phrase he described in plain terms as "a clean opinion." The audit shows total assets of about $3.7 million, capital assets of roughly $2.3 million and an unrestricted net position of about $853,000, which Logan said equates to roughly nine months of operations.
