City audit returns unmodified opinion; council requests a work session

Wanderlin Wright of Banks Finley White and Company told the Council the independent audit for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2025, resulted in an unmodified opinion, meaning the auditors found the financial statements to be materially correct. “We issue what’s known as an unmodified opinion,” Wright said, describing it as the best opinion an entity can receive.
