Price County Sheriff’s Office reported two recruits in training, a passed kitchen and jail inspection, plans for an August K-9 fundraiser, and a surge in open-records requests (195 in 2024; 322 in 2025; 220 YTD in 2026) creating staff strain.

Sheriff’s Office staff told the committee that staffing improvements are underway: Dawson Hauschild is in his third phase of field-training (FTO) and expected to complete FTO in early September, and new hire Brandon Boggs is attending the recruit academy in Rhinelander and expected to return for FTO after graduation in early September.
