The Springfield Select Board met Dec. 23 to consider purchasing a used 2003 Caterpillar (Cat) grader being held by the Milton Cat dealership as a trade from Westmorland, Vt. The dealership’s price is $100,000; the town’s Volvo grader would be accepted as a $30,000 trade‑in, leaving a net balance of $70,000.
