Porter, a commissioner with Newton County Emergency Services District No. 4, presented the district's compiled financial statement and 2026 budget and reported operational data and purchases. Porter told the court the district had 64 calls last year — nine structure fires and 40 medical calls — and that the district plans to purchase a new truck for approximately $25,000 and has received two grants for equipment.
