Residents press county on Amazon development impacts and Dry Creek water concerns

Several residents at the Clallam County meeting challenged the county about water availability for the Sequim/Edgewood area and asked whether Amazon paid its fair share of infrastructure costs; county staff said the developer paid impact fees through the city and that some mitigation funding flowed to local infrastructure.

Public commenters pressed the board over the Sequim-area Amazon project and its local impacts, especially water supply and road improvements in the Edgewood Drive corridor. One attendee asked, "How would you classify a UGA or rural area?... There's no justification for not having Amazon pay for the whole thing," arguing developers should shoulder additional infrastructure costs.
