Thomas County requests drafting of moratorium resolution on data centers, battery storage, crypto-mining and similar facilities
After consulting the county attorney, the board asked that a resolution be prepared imposing moratoriums on data centers, battery energy storage systems, cryptocurrency‑mining operations, artificial‑intelligence facilities, and carbon dioxide capture/transport/sequestration until the Comprehensive Plan and zoning regulations are updated.
