Damen Thundercloud, a legislator for the Ho-Chunk Nation who represents District 2, told a Vernon County committee meeting that the Nation wants a closer, ongoing relationship with county officials as data centers and a proposed highline transmission project expand into the region. "I would like to see a closer relationship with the Ho Chunk Nation in Vernon County. You know we have the 1.2 million that you guys are generous enough to give us," Thundercloud said.
