Alamo Heights rolls out Blue Bonnet Math, intensive PD and tiered RTI to tackle math shortfalls
District adopted Blue Bonnet Math, reported 124 teachers completed 1,128 hours of math professional development this summer supported by a three-year grant, and described RTI tiered interventions to address students who fail STAR; leaders said math is a prioritized implementation within the strategic plan.

District leaders told the committee that math is the clearest opportunity area after reviewing STAR and MAP growth data: "So, what are you doing about it? Well, we're doing a lot about it," Dr. Jimmy Walker said, describing a new math adoption and a summer professional development push. The presenter reported the district secured grant funding to support implementation for three years and said 124 teachers recorded 1,128 hours of PD focused on the new curriculum.
