DPW reports Consumers Energy line replacements, fiber work and progress on water meter upgrades
DPW staff (Ed White) told the council Consumers Energy crews are replacing service lines and that Frontier/Verizon fiber work is underway; Neptune meter gateway readings show about 70% of meter upgrades completed with 42 installs in March.

Ed White delivered a detailed DPW report covering several ongoing infrastructure activities. He said Consumers Energy is replacing many service lines across town and that contractors have been performing camera inspections and digging where necessary; he also noted Frontier/Verizon and other firms are installing fiber in town. On water meters, Ed White reported the Neptune gateway shows roughly 136 meters remain to be installed and that March saw 42 completions.
