At the Jan. 22 meeting, resident Owen McDonald questioned county officials about a discrepancy between a year-end audit showing roughly $24 million in projected project costs and a newspaper item estimating $44 million in SPLOST collections. "That number went from 24 million to 44 million," McDonald said, pressing county staff for what changed between the two figures.
