Several parents used the public-comment portion of the meeting to raise safety and assessment concerns. Despina Gigis, a parent and nurse, urged the district to adopt a consistent verification step for student pickup and to ensure emergency contact records are accurate and accessible, saying one extra check “could prevent a mistake, an unauthorized release, or a tragedy.”
