Staff requested and the BOCC approved an amendment to the county's governmental 457(b) deferred-compensation plan to add a Roth contribution option required by SECURE 2.0; staff estimated a 3–4 week implementation period after provider coordination.

Staff (addressed in the meeting as Trish) recommended adding a Roth contribution option to the county's governmental 457(b) plan to accommodate SECURE 2.0 requirements and to give employees an additional contribution option. The presenter explained the SECURE 2.0 provision affects certain higher‑paid employees and that the plan must be able to accept Roth contributions; commissioners thanked staff for the work.
