Commissioners highlight local events, industry visit and workforce discussions

During commissioner comments the board highlighted local community and economic events. One commissioner thanked Palmer Land Conservancy for organizing Bike the Bessemer, describing it as a 12‑mile ride with "like 150 riders" and urging residents to attend similar activities on the Mesa. The chair reported touring Collins Aerospace, calling the company a major local employer, and said he attended a roundtable with the U.S. Secretary of Labor that included members of Congress, chamber leaders and representatives from PCC and other partners to discuss workforce development.
