A staff member for Clay County told the meeting that some county jobs require safety footwear for employees who work around heavy equipment, handle heavy tools or visit construction sites with uneven terrain. "We wanna make safety footwear as accessible as possible to our employees, so we do that in 2 ways," the staff member said, describing an annual boot truck and a partial cost-coverage policy.
