County issues multiple proclamations, hosts mariachi ensemble and community recognitions

The Denton County Commissioners Court used the start of its Sept. 15 meeting to issue several ceremonial proclamations. The court proclaimed Sept. 17–23, 2026 as Constitution Week, declared September 2026 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (joined by Bonnie Hunt of Leah's Kids), recognized Sept. 15–Oct. 15 as Denton County Hispanic Heritage Month (with a mariachi performance introduced by Jason Molina of Texas Woman's University), and proclaimed September 2026 as United Way Month.
