Board hears CCMR changes as TEA removes math bridge from CCMR indicators

District staff told trustees that TEA no longer allows the math portion of the Texas College Bridge to count as a CCMR indicator beginning with the class of 2027, prompting revised district goals and additional strategies for test preparation and early interventions.

At the Sept. 24 meeting, district staff outlined changes to College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR) rules and the district's resulting adjusted targets. Priscilla explained that "this year, TEA has made a change where that is no longer an option for us to use the math portion of the college preparatory course. So, students cannot earn that CCMR indicator, no longer starting in the class of 2027." The change reduces the pool of allowable indicators and requires goal recalibration.
