County manager reports dust-storm response, new drone, DWI caseload and other operations

County Manager Chris Brice updated the commissioners on several operational items at the March 13 meeting. He praised local law enforcement's response to recent dust storms, said emergency management has acquired a drone for situational awareness, noted code enforcement activity regarding property cleanup, and described juvenile delinquency initiatives and Starmax facility improvements. Brice also reported DWI caseload numbers—114 offenders tracked and 9 arrests in February—and stated, as part of his update, that "Luna County has hit the 50% unemployment mark" as reported to the board.
