Board approves interim use permit for short-term rental; one commissioner abstains

Zoning administrator Trina presented an interim use permit application from Ken and Chelsea Sands for a short-term rental on a 33-acre parcel in Springvale Township. The property currently has four bedrooms; the applicants said they might add two bedrooms, increasing the possible occupancy to as many as 14 people. Trina said the property met the ordinance's performance standards and septic code for the requested use; the planning commission recommended approval with 19 conditions and five supporting findings.
