The Burke County Finance Committee opened bids Aug. 7 for pipe purchases for the Road Department and forwarded the proposals to the appropriate department for review and recommendation to the Board. Cherokee Culvert submitted the lowest bid at $26,166.56; Pomona Pipe Products bid $35,748.85 and Cavco bid $39,103.20.
