Multiple residents raised concerns about road maintenance and the Depot Street project at the July 20 Wallingford Selectboard meeting. Eric Davenport described repeated visits by town crews that did not finish grading work on East Street and other roads, frequent equipment breakdowns (Kenworth, Volvo), and questioned why fill from Depot Street was not being moved or used more efficiently. Officials responded that the town had experienced a particularly bad run of equipment failures and that staff would increase oversight: "He feels like he's 3 months behind on grading," a board member summarized in response to crew reports.
