Board authorizes structural evaluation contract for Cold Spring pier
Trustees authorized the village to sign a contract with Race Coastal Engineering (via Meritus) to conduct a structural evaluation of the Cold Spring pier, after negotiating choice of governing law and raising the engineer's liability limit in the contract.

The board voted May 6 to authorize Meritus to sign a contract with Race Coastal Engineering for a structural evaluation of the Cold Spring pier. Trustees said the shop negotiated contractual changes with the engineer and the village attorney, including making New York law the governing law instead of Connecticut and increasing the engineer's professional liability limit from $300,000 to $500,000.
