Mayor reports TCEQ preliminary dam grant approval and multiple road projects
Mayor Skip Blackstone told the council the city received preliminary TCEQ approval for a $405,000 High Hazard Dam Rehabilitation grant (pending FEMA review) and reviewed planned road and dam repairs, a dispute with Entergy over a pole in the right-of-way, and contractor problems on Camelot Circle.

Mayor Skip Blackstone used his Nov. 21 report to update the council on several infrastructure issues. He said the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s Dam Safety Program gave the city preliminary approval for a High Hazard Dam Rehabilitation grant of $405,000 and that the application has been sent to FEMA for final review; the mayor said the city would be required to provide a 35% match. He also noted the original mayoral request had been $300,000.
