The plan commission recommended re-adopting the town’s Unified Development Ordinance and advancing amendments required by new state rules. Council approved ordinance 2026-05 to readopt the UDO with amendments that streamline administrative processes, adjust building-material standards and add definitions for use classifications.

A planning representative summarized recommended readoption of the town’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) and additional amendments driven by state law changes and staff-identified deficiencies. Proposed updates include administrative pathways for certain use classifications, adjustments to building-material requirements (the prior 50% masonry requirement for street-facing facades has been identified as a barrier to development), new definitions (e.g., manufactured-home types, indoor shooting range) and certain subdivision exemptions to be processed administratively.
