Council approves first step of CCMG scoping after engineering presentation
Manning Engineering proposed a four-part plan to help Lapel apply for a Community Crossing Matching Grant (CCMG); the council approved an initial scoping and pavement-management task to produce GIS ratings and cost estimates, directing staff to return with detailed cost/scale information for later phases.

Jeff Minson, of Manning Engineering, presented a task-order approach to the town’s Community Crossing Matching Grant application: road-condition rating, conversion into GIS format, design and bid documents, and construction administration. He said the firm has handled similar projects for other small towns and described the full proposal total as $39,800. The council discussed breaking the work into parts and prioritized the scoping and pavement-management plan as the first step.
