Council hears about internet coverage gaps; Spectrum work noted along State Road 68

Apr 8, 2026

A council member reported that Spectrum is building along State Road 68 and Deer Court but not covering some nearby lanes; Mainstream left a pocket of roads without service and engineering orders were placed for additional roads to be completed after initial segments.

The full story

A council member described residents' lack of internet access on several lanes and said they contacted providers. The member said Spectrum has already "buried their lines along 68" and is developing service on Deer Court but "it doesn't go north of Deer Court," leaving a pocket of streets without service. He added that Mainstream's engineer did not return a call and that Spectrum's in-development work covers three roads now, with an order placed for engineering of the other three roads but no firm timeline until the first three are completed.
