Planning commission recommends matching deck setbacks to underlying zoning
After a staff presentation, the Elko New Market Planning Commission voted to recommend the City Council amend Title 11 to align residential deck side-yard setbacks with the underlying zoning district, saying the 10-foot rule had become restrictive in newer subdivisions.

City staff presented a proposal to amend Title 11 of the zoning ordinance to change residential deck side-yard setbacks from a fixed 10 feet so that decks would be allowed to match the setback required for the primary structure in the underlying zoning district.
