The Village of Kirkland Board of Trustees voted Aug. 3 to solicit bids for a new solid-waste services contract, noting the existing five-year agreement with Waste Management expires Dec. 31, 2026. Village Attorney Walter presented a draft Request for Proposal and Trustee Michener moved to put the contract out to bid; Trustee Ziegler seconded and the motion carried on a voice vote.
