The township engineer presented a preventative, data-driven road maintenance strategy designed to extend pavement life and reduce reconstruction costs. He said the townships objective is to establish a sustainable maintenance program that targets preventive treatments and avoids costly reconstruction. The engineer proposed approximately 65,000 square yards of resurfacing for the year, above the estimated minimum of 46,000 square yards needed to maintain the network.
