County updates: BRIC reinstated, pre‑disaster flood resilience studies underway

Amy briefed the committee on federal and state funding developments relevant to county mitigation planning. She said courts ordered reinstatement of the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program after an earlier cancellation and that the county will explore implementation funding when the program timeline is announced. “So the FEMA BRIC program...was initially canceled earlier this year...and courts said they have to reinstate that because that was a Congress approved program,” Amy said.
