Marion County holds workshop to map rules, protections before any data center application

Marion County commissioners convened a workshop to gather lessons from other jurisdictions, hear state legal context and begin drafting local rules for data center development. Chairman Zalick opened the meeting by saying the session was informational only — no applications or approvals would be considered today — and turned the discussion to staff and outside presenters.
