Committee members questioned the size and function of a proposed 5,000-square-foot wellness and locker area and whether it doubled up space unnecessarily. Mike said the wellness space is sized for roughly 130 staff (about 100 law enforcement and 30 jail staff) and noted the space also functions as a hardened shelter for emergencies.
