County rolls out phased courthouse improvement plan; flooring replacement set for 2028
Las Animas County staff presented a prioritized plan for courthouse repairs and maintenance that will begin on the second floor in 2025; more invasive flooring replacement is scheduled for 2028 and will involve elected officials and staff input at a May 6 work session.

Christa Rhoades and Ken Bowman presented the Courthouse Office Improvement Plan on April 15, outlining prioritized repairs from most to least urgent. Immediate work includes patching, sanding and painting; the county’s maintenance department will perform repairs with minimal disruption to staff and the public.
