The Burke County Board of Commissioners voted 3–2 on May 13 to approve a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the proposed Red Branch Solar Farm, a roughly 2,388‑acre large‑scale solar project on parcels listed as 107‑043, 107‑050, 108‑005, 108‑027 and 115‑010A.
