Multiple bids filed for Hughes County bridge replacement; one bid initially mislaid

Highway Superintendent Nick Dooley reported the bids the county received for Project BRO 8033(00)23-3, PCN 09H4, a structure replacement and approach grading job. The bids read publicly on Oct. 31, 2025 included A‑G‑E Corporation at $737,339 and multiple others from Morris Inc. ($1,085,807) to Sharpe Enterprises ($1,470,624.85). A BX Civil & Construction bid of $826,284.10, submitted Oct. 30, 2025, was noted as having been mislaid during the initial reading and was then opened and read aloud by Dooley.
