Burden Bearers describe chaplaincy work, costs and local support request
Representatives of the Logan County Burden Bearers told the fiscal court they provide on-scene and behind-the-scenes counseling for first responders and families, listed 2025 operating expenses and accepted the court's $1,000 budgeted contribution for their work.

Brother Mike, introduced to the court as Mike Humble, gave a history of the Burden Bearers’ chapter and said the volunteer group responds to traumatic incidents across rural Logan County, providing immediate family support and counseling for first responders. “We just try to serve the first responders,” he said, describing typical calls and training the team receives through the Kentucky Community Crisis Response Team.
