The board approved hiring a specialized Information Technology systems administrator position to provide security‑sensitive IT support for the sheriff's office and to assist county IT needs. Staff said the position had been approved in a prior budget cycle, is already budgeted in the IT manager’s FY budget for four staff and will be funded partly from impact assistance funds; the role will be capable of testifying in criminal cases and managing high‑level security access required by the sheriff's office.
