The county's transit director, Kurt, presented a draft letter he proposed to send to the county's congressional delegation asking for additional operating and capital support for public transit. Kurt said recent federal and state funding had fallen nearly 40% over two years and that, based on current reduced-service levels, the agency was roughly $145,000 short of funds needed to maintain existing service levels.
