Conservation district asks Eagle for $10,000 to expand local turf-conversion rebates
Eagle County Conservation District staff presented the Beyond Lawn program, reported high local demand and a waitlist, and requested roughly $10,000 from the town to fund additional household rebates in 2027.

Laura Bohannon, executive director of the Eagle County Conservation District, and Ryan Vilar, horticulture specialist for the Beyond Lawn program, described the program’s technical assistance, noxious-weed cost shares and a restructured 2027 rebate plan. Vilar said the district has approved 23 turf rebates in 2026 totaling 48,000 square feet and $74,000 in rebate funds, and that "our funding request would be $10,000 for rebates" from the town to expand resident participation.
