The Wayne County Commission adopted a resolution recognizing Juneteenth (observed June 19) and honoring the courage and contributions of African Americans. Commissioner Martha G. Scott moved the resolution and Commissioners Peterson Mayberry and others supported it; the chair called the vote and the motion carried.
