Jack Rudder, the county's Veterans Service Officer, reported increased outreach in the past month: he visited with the new doctor at the Alamosa VA Clinic, refiled two compensation claims and has one pension claim pending. Rudder said he is learning how to navigate the Veterans Benefits Management System (VBMS) and paid his National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO) dues.
