Design work and early construction underway on stadium and track projects
Design teams have been selected and some contractors have started site work: the Astro High / Asheville High stadium repairs are in design with SKA engineers, and the AMS track contractor began track work while restroom permitting continues; slot drains and grading are in progress and asphalt/track surfacing schedules were discussed.

Ronnie, the projects presenter, said the design team for Astro High stadium repairs (SKA engineers) has been selected and a proposal meeting has already taken place; contracting for the design is expected within weeks. For the AMS track and restroom project, Ronnie said the contractor started track work first while restroom permitting continues — old surfacing has been removed, roughly 500 cubic yards of dirt were excavated and moved, concrete aprons were poured, and slot drains are being installed to manage drainage. "We ordered the removal of that with our solid waste department," Ronnie said, noting reuse of clean dirt as a benefit.
