The court moved to appoint a certified peace officer to fill the Precinct 2 constable vacancy effective Jan. 1, 2025; the prior constable resigned after moving out of county. The agenda named the appointee (as the sheriff in the agenda text) and the court said the appointment will last until the next general election, in 2026.
