After executive session the Las Animas County Board rejected a late submission for the 2025 routine waste disposal contract, reaffirming that bids arriving after the advertised deadline will not be opened.

During the Jan. 21 meeting, the Board considered the 2025 routine waste disposal bid. Administrator Phil Dorenkamp said only one local vendor exists and that a vendor’s submission was received after the advertised 10:00 a.m. deadline. The item was tabled for discussion in executive session.
