Police Chief McAllister presented a revised community camera program that narrows the original proposal and adds operational safeguards. "The community cameras are fixed public area video... It doesn't monitor inside homes or private spaces," the chief said, explaining the program is designed to preserve footage of public corridors to assist investigations such as hit-and-runs, suspicious incidents or missing persons while masking private property from view.
