Laura Knowlton of the Golden Welcome Center presented an overview of the center’s operations, partnerships and economic contribution to commissioners. She said the center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit at 1010 Washington in downtown Golden and reported that roughly 34,000 people passed through the doors in 2025. Knowlton described a volunteer corps of about 40 people who together contributed approximately 4,300 hours last year; using Colorado’s volunteer value rate of $39.39 per hour she said that equates to about $172,000 in volunteer value supporting the center’s mission.
