Commissioners agreed to allow accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in the town’s R1, R2 and agricultural districts and instructed staff to prepare regulatory standards to distinguish ADUs from short-term rentals; R3 (multifamily) was left out of the allowance, and the matter was continued for drafting.

During a chapter of the required housing-standards hearing, planning staff reviewed the state's minimum ADU definition (self-contained unit, not to exceed 75% of the primary dwelling or 1,000 sq ft) and recommended drafting local standards. Commissioners expressed concern about short-term rental use and asked staff to include registration or special-use controls to prevent ADUs from functioning as Airbnb-type rentals.
