Councilmember Ron Krysl raised employee questions about when overtime is allowed. The council reiterated that overtime is permitted only in emergency situations such as snow removal and that overtime pay is calculated at time-and-a-half for hours worked over 40 in a week. The minutes reference a prior discussion with Utilities Supervisor Gary Thurlow and employee Travis Schmitz in January 2022 as background for the policy.
