The city approved several recreation- and event-related items on May 5. Council approved purchase of a new alley at the rodeo grounds for $4,750 after Jacque Anson of the High School Rodeo Association explained calves currently can turn around in the chute and presented photos. Separately, the council authorized hooking up electrical and plumbing in the new concession stand at the ballpark and installing interior sheeting for shelving; the Atkinson Athletic Club will coordinate temporary power with Travis Root until the city completes electrical work.
