After public comment that included residents’ safety and property-value concerns and a request from a homeowner, the Shell Lake City Council voted unanimously to keep its existing short-term rental ordinance in place rather than amend guest limits.

The Shell Lake City Council voted unanimously Sept. 14 to retain the city’s existing short-term rental ordinance after a period of public comment and council discussion. The motion to keep the ordinance unchanged passed on a roll call vote with Anderson, Rasmussen, Harrington, Byrd, Andrews, Smith and Severson voting yes.
